The relationship between Russia and the Netherlands begins with an image of navigation: a young tsar travels to a European shipyard for the craft of shipbuilding and returns not so much a master as the bearer of a new symbolic axis — a course by which the country will orient itself for three centuries...

This summer, Artists Against the Kremlin returns to De Balie for its third edition. Organised by Prometheus Art, The Moscow Times and De Balie, the exhibition brings together contemporary Russian-speaking artists from across the world whose work confronts Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, political repression and censorship.

Artists Against the Kremlin Vol. 2 continues the book series dedicated to the critical art of Russian-speaking artists.
